Indigenous people are the holders of millennial information on plants and vegetation on their lands. There is still a belief that colonization is a thing of the past, but this could not be further from the truth; Today, indigenous people are facing the exploitation and degradation of their ancestral territories, they are being displaced, murdered, and threatened for defending their lands and ways of life.

Without indigenous people’s rights being respected and recognized as their roles as primary defenders of the world’s biodiversity and culture, the extinction and degradation of crucial ecosystems that sustain the natural processes of the environment and the quality of life for the greater society will continue to decline in the hands of corporations and governments.

I have compiled a short list of organizations and groups that support the preservation of ecosystems as well as bring awareness of indigenous peoples' fights and efforts to preserve their culture and lands.

Their mission is to defend and support the struggles of indigenous people to defend their rights to land, life and cultural survival in the Amazon Rainforest.
